The TOG 2 heavy tank was used as a test bed for the turret of the new Challenger heavy cruiser tank, producing the TOG 2*. The designers of 1941 were used to tiny 2 pdr ammunition, so they gave the Challenger tank two loaders to handle the much larger 17 pdr ammunition.

Originally they developed the Heavy Tank TOG I, due to them thinking that World War II would have trenches warfare, just like World War I. Unfortuneately, the War Office had come to learn that this would not.

The TOG tank was designed to be a versatile war machine, capable of navigating difficult terrain and withstanding attacks. Its armor was strong enough to withstand 47mm anti-tank guns and 105mm howitzers from a distance of 91 meters. The tank's main gun was impressive, able to penetrate 2.1 meters of reinforced concrete.
